Cambodia and Cuba have formalized a partnership to enhance cooperation in the tourism sector through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement was signed in Siem Reap province by Cambodian Tourism Minister Huot Hak and Milena Caridad Zaldívar Piedra, Cuba’s Ambassador to Cambodia.
The MoU sets a collaborative framework between the two countries’ tourism authorities, aiming to promote tourism development and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience. A key focus of the agreement is to expand Cambodia’s tourism outreach into Latin American markets, fostering opportunities for tourism cooperation based on principles of equality and mutual benefit.
With diplomatic relations established in 1960, Cambodia and Cuba have maintained longstanding bilateral ties, and this MoU marks a significant step in strengthening their partnership further. The initiative is expected to open new avenues for engaging with broader international tourism markets, leveraging the unique cultural and historical offerings of both nations.
