In the first half of 2026, Jakarta solidified its position as Indonesia’s leading investment hub, drawing in Rp 173.6 trillion, equivalent to $9.7 billion, in total investments. This impressive sum includes Rp 106.5 trillion from domestic sources and Rp 67.1 trillion from foreign direct investment (FDI), underscoring the robust confidence investors have in the capital city.
During the second quarter alone, Jakarta attracted investments amounting to Rp 94.9 trillion, or $5.3 billion, which represents 18.5% of the nation’s total investment realization. The city led the country in domestic investment, securing Rp 58.6 trillion, and achieved the position of Indonesia’s second-largest destination for FDI, with Rp 36.3 trillion recorded in this category.
Officials attribute Jakarta’s strong investment performance to significant improvements in the ease of doing business, enhanced public services, and an overall favorable investment climate. These factors have collectively contributed to the capital’s appeal to both domestic and international investors seeking opportunities in Indonesia.
While Jakarta held the top spot, West Java emerged as the second most attractive region for investors, amassing Rp 138.1 trillion in investments during the same period. This highlights the competitive landscape within Indonesia, as different regions vie to attract more capital and drive economic growth.
